On Thursday, after completing my office work, when I started to go home, I received a call about an 80-year-old lady who was in trouble. Her husband passed away a long time ago, and has no child. She was working as a maid earlier for survival. But it was difficult for her to work at this age. Due to her poor financial situation, the landlord asked her to leave the rented house. She started living on the road, at mid-night the dogs bit her on ledges badly, and with her injured legs she started ramming on the road and asking for help.
When I got to know about her situation, I registered her name in the " Savli Niwara Kendra". We enrolled her in the Shelter home.
She cried like a child at the time of admission. I enrolled her with a heavy heart. She was not capable of speaking a lot but her eyes expressed her misery, fear, loneliness, and stress. When I grabbed her hand, I felt the touch of my grandma. I got emotional when I held her shivering hand. This was the same feeling as a mother dropping her child to school for the first time.
As we say, sometimes timing is the only key to resolve any situation. Her treatment started at a Shelter home. Day by day she started improving physically and emotionally.
Now, When I go to the Savli Niwara Kendra to meet her, She hugs me tightly like a child. I remember her eyes when I saw her for the first time and today when I see her, her innocent smile encourages me a lot, and every time I see trust in her eyes about me.
Now she is safe, healthy and happy. She is enjoying her life with other beneficiaries of a shelter home.
Thanks to Sonali, who informed me about her, and all credit goes to Savli Niwara Kendra, and thanks to Mr. Husen sir, Mrs. Adnes, Mrs. Gautam, Mrs. Aakash, Mrs.Sachin, and the whole Savli Niwara Kendra team for valuable devotion towards the sensitive people of our society.
As I always said, if anybody wants to see a god, they must have to visit Shelter Home and Meet Savli Niwara Kendra's Team.
